Twine Fabric
Cara Rosa and Chloe Townsend are the oldest and dearest of friends, who grew up together in Stellenbosch. In between running amok under willow trees, dodging chickens, eating too many eggs, drinking brandy laced milk and riding horses, our love affair of all things natural, quirky, and fresh was born. A magical dinner in early 2008 signaled the birth of Twine Fabrics and the beginning of a beautiful journey fusing the diverse talents of two lasses.
Twine Fabric produces a range of bespoke printed fabrics on 55% hemp and 45% organic cotton and related home-wear products in our girl’s only studio at The Palms in Woodstock.
We believe in the integrity of natural sustainable materials and supporting local suppliers. Our products are handmade by Desiree, Tessa, Sandra and Beauty and embroidered by Mabasela, Zanele, Noayini, Nobulele of the Ikaya Trust in Kayamandi, Stellenbosch .
Hemp does not weaken when washed, it is stronger when wet than dry. Over time, it becomes softer without losing its shape or appearance, though natural fading will occur. Hemp cloth stands most wear and tear and outlasts other materials and natural fibres. If given proper care, it can last a lifetime.
